Hi, I'm currently running Xubuntu on a Toshiba Satellite 1805-S204. It's a bit slow, I'm running Puppy on another machine, and I tried to run MacPup Opera, but I can't get the wireless card to connect. I simply follow the directions as I work through the Wizard/Wizard for connecting to the internet via LAN/Wireless. My card uses the RealTek 8180 chip, and MacPup successfully loads the RTL8180 driver included with the iso; but when I try to connect, the attempt times out, and I get an error message:
access point: not associated
link quality: 0
output of 'wpa_cli -i wlan0 status'
wpa_state=scanning
I know that there have been bugs in the Linux RTL8180 driver before. The driver in the current Xubuntu setup is rev 20. So:
- Is there something I'm doing wrong?
- What rev of the driver does MacPup use?
- Does someone have another suggestion?
Thanks in advance!
