First off, let me say this is the nicest looking puplet I've come across since I was intoduced to Puppy about three years ago. The use of E17 as WM is also a plus and performs above my expectations.
Recently though, I had a small problem with Opera misbehaving. Honestly, I appreciate some of it's features and it's look is awesome but find it a tad slow and bloated being more a Seamonkey or Links 2 kind of person for speed (the box is wifi connected but the connection is stable). A quick glance at top revealed it was taking in about 92% of the cpu, inevitably slowing everything else to a crawl. The kill pid or even killall commands were useless as was restarting X. A reboot solved the problem but I would just like to get to the bottom of this. I have no log of this but it's a full HD install on a IBM NetVista, Intel Pentium 4 1.60GHz, 512megs ram.
Thanks,
Opera hogs cpu

I would suggest checking your download md5sum . I have never had a problem with opera being slow . You are the first person that has had a problem like this. The only time I have maxed out the cpu was when I was compiling something. If you are run any of the extra modules like flame or rain , Turn them off , they will use some of the cpu up.
If you feel Opera 061 is "bloated" you may be happier with a stripped down pup or something like browserpuppy.
