I'm getting lot's of double and triple postings of comments with this version. Feedback from posters is that after clicking Add Comment, they are waiting a long time for the post to go through at which point they will click Add Comment again or several times and then find every click made a post. My server is very lightly loaded and this wasn't a common problem with prior versions, so I'm not sure what the deal is. Any suggestions?

I think the current admin panel is fine. I see no problems with my own Pritlog-ed sites and the admin panels nor the interface.

I've even designed some themes (for use on my own sites of course), and the admin panel works fine despite my mods to the default and other themes.

So, I think the admin panel is splendid as it is. I would like to see a screenshot of the new panel proposal, just so I can give my take on what its new look would feel like.

Have a nice day.

that's called 'noindex' to prevent webspider indexing your page/content. other way, you can create some htaccess rule.

nofollow is one type of link relation (ex : <a href="link" rel="nofollow") that google webspider instructed not to passed content credibility to that link.

how to implement noindex, you can get it here : http://static.googleusercontent.com/external_content/untrusted_dlcp/www.google.com/en//webmasters/docs/search-engine-optimization-starter-guide.pdf

I am working on a new admin panel for Pritlog. This may be released as the 0.9 version. I am not releasing this Pre-Alpha version as a package, but I will send the demo link with user/pass to the folks who have registered for the Pritlog newsletter.

This thread can be used to report any bugs, feedbacks. Remember, this is only a preview release and may have many rough edges.

@renggap,
The Pritlog files need to be replaced with this new version for an upgrade. The database and config files must be retained as-is.

I checked in Google, and it indicates that it will not follow a link marked as "nofollow" and hence the target page will not get indexed. Hence, we should be okay using "nofollow".

I checked couple of my production servers and they have php compiled with iso8859 encoding. These two are very popular hosting companies out there. I am not sure how many people would have sqlite utf-8 enabled. I want to keep Pritlog compatible with common hosting options.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions on how to keep it compatible and also handle utf-8. I will also keep researching on how to handle this most effectively.

There is a minor update release.

Changes:
- Allow blank posts/comments.
- Allow the admin to see the email id of the commenter.
- Show last page also in page navigation
- Add nofollow to prevent search engine crawling of some url's like new entry, forgotpass etc
- Fixed bug that prevented editing when clean url is turned on

This can be downloaded from HERE.

As always, feedbacks and issues can be submitted here on the forum or on the pritlog website.

I added this to catch comments that are empty or almost empty. I could not check for 0 length because the WYSIWYG editor adds some formatting characters when using some browsers. If this is really inconvenient, then maybe we should remove it. Whats your suggestion?

I am not sure which charset to use that would universally solve the problem. I tried UTF-8 and it seems to solve it to some extent. But then storing in the DB, editing and all break it again. If anyone has any suggestions on how to best deal with such accented characters do let me know.

Until a fix to this is available, I would recommend users who deal with accented characters to use Pritlog 0.811 (or 0.812).

Hi,
the server is linux and shared free hosting.
If you want information on php can be found here.

I use firefox, but if you want to do testing on Google Chrome, IEX, Opera ... in each case with the old version and the server with the same problem was not there...

I even saved the old version of the site ... if you want to see and try, click here.

Thank you very much ;)

Thanks. Can you tell me the server you are using? Is this a local test server or hosted on a standard website host? Also, which browser do you use to add the posts to Pritlog?

I have seen some non-standard encodings on the server side cause similar problems before. I will also do some tests to try and recreate this.
