Just to keep the forum up to date, Prit help me see that I had table spacing issues for several reasons, 1st I needed to set a img to no borders, 2nd the td padding-left (mentioned in my previous post) needed to be 0, 3rd, I had entered some of my own CSS tags to try and deal with the spacing issues and needed to remove those.

The javascript issue was also simply caused by me forgetting to add a line in the header file which points to my .js file that I dropped in the javascript folder.

Thank you again Prit.

So, I'm working on integrating 0.821 with an existing site and am having a little trouble, which I didn't seem to have with previous versions of Pritlog. Specifically, I'm adding a nav bar in the header area. The nav bar is a series of images that were sliced and put in a table. For some reason, I can't seem to get the spacing between cells removed. I've spent quite a bit of time trying various things in the css file and of course the header file. Now I'm ready for a little help. I did find that about 3/4 of the way down the css file, there is the line "td { padding-left: 20px; } " which if changed to 0px improves my cellspacing issue, but doesn't resolve it. I'm hesitant to just change that line though, because it may be like that for another reason.

I also put my javascript file for supporting rollovers in the javascript folder, but for some reason rollovers are not working.

Appreciate the help.

Interesting, it's not happening on your blog. I will send you an email with a link to what's going on on mine. I'm guessing this is a template issue. Perhaps something changed between 0.81 and 0.821.

I did not understand the issue you had with the archives. Can you check http://blog.hardkap.com and show me where you see it? Or show me an example from your blog.

Thanks for the feedback about the "safe mode". We can add this to the install instructions.

Thanks, I signed up for the newsletter.

Also, I noticed a minor issue with the archives portion of the blog. Whatever month of the archives I choose to view, the resulting page displays the correct posts for the month I selected, however, the list is titles with the current month and year, not the month and year of the posts that I selected. This may sound confusing, but if you try it, it should be apparent right away. Again, this is a minor issue.

Thats good to know.

There used to be a dedicated set of folks testing earlier versions of Pritlog before the stable release and this used to prevent such errors from occurring. Without them Pritlog would not have come this far. I am grateful to them. Lately, they have left the community and hence I don't get much feedback. Only few after the final release.

I will include you in the testing of the next version.

I found a program called SQLite Administrator that was able to open the db and allowed me to edit the categories.

Alright, I installed SqliteManager for Firefox and tried to connect to a copy of my postdb.sqlite file, however SM (SqliteManager) doesn't do anything after I connect (no errors). It shows "Database not Selected" in the upper left, just like before I tried to connect. If I try to do anything, SM says I need to open a db first. I'm not sure what to do at this point.

Don't edit with vi, this may not work. If you have an SqliteManager extension installed for Firefox, you might be able to edit the DB using SQL commands. Its pretty straight forward. Did you have a lot of tags like these? Or lot of posts with these tags?

I just noticed another issue with the latest version. Any tag I had (prior to upgrading) with a space in it, now (after upgrading) shows up as having a dot (period) instead of the space. When making new posts and using previously created tags (using spaces) I now get double entries for the tags (one with spaces and one with periods). How do I fix the tags with periods and change them to having spaces? Edit the db file with vi and do it manually, or will that cause problems?

Glad to hear that the update helped.

To download earlier versions of Pritlog, you can go the the "tags" page and select the tag, login as anonymous and select the version and zip archive. If this sounds a little unclear for a new user, I will think about making it more user friendly. Thanks for reporting.

I will make the change to allow for blank comments in the upcoming minor update of Pritlog.

I will also make the change so that the admin can see the email id.

So, I finally got a chance to try and get 0.821 working and I did. I downloaded 0.811 (which I couldn't find a direct link to from your download page, by the way) and ran the upgrade.php file. I then copied 0.821 to the server and I think everything is fine. One thing I need to do though is configure the comments so that a short or even blank comment can be left.

Also, if someone fills out the email field when posting a comment, how do I, as the administrator, see their email address?

When you upgraded from 0.81 to 0.821 did you take the following route?
0.81 -> 0.811 -> 0.821

Did you run the update script when you upgraded from 0.81 to 0.811? This had a modification to the table format and hence was required to be done.

Because we are experiencing unusually high traffic today, I'm going to hold off on doing any testing on the live site for the moment (so no screen shot at the moment). I will be sending you an email shortly with the contents of the 0.821 blog's folder.

I started with 0.81.

Can you post a screenshot of when you see the error during "new post"?

Also, looking at the errors, it looks like the database missed an update. Which version of Pritlog did you start from? How did you upgrade all the way to 0.821? This info will help.

One easy way if your posts and data is not private would be to send me a zip archive of your Pritlog folder with the postdb.sqlite data. If this is private, then maybe you can edit the Sqlite database using an UI like Sqlite manager (Firefox extension). Anyway, this can be the last option if we cannot figure things out.
